AKA: CA SLPA License Reciprocity
What's Here? - Table of Contents
SLPAs licensed in another state can become licensed in California through the reciprocity process. Applicants must prove that the speech-language pathology education they’ve received is equivalent to the standards set by California for assistants.
Because these applicants already passed the national exam they won’t have to be retaken. Transcripts confirming your education and verification of your current SLPA license being in good standing must be submitted to the Board by the issuing institutions. Fingerprints will also need to be submitted for the background check, along with the $49 processing fee. The licensing fee is an additional $50.
Apply online or by downloading the application packet. It can take the board between 30-60 days two process your application. Once they’ve completed the review do you receive an e-mail notification regarding licensure.
