In Vermont, renewals are easy. In order to keep everything simple, Vermont renews all SLP licenses in August of each odd year. Therefore, if you get a license in the middle of that two-year period, your first license will only be valid for the rest of the period. There’s one exception to the rule: If your license is granted 90 days or less from the next renewal date, then your license won’t need to be renewed until August 31 two years later. The state sends out three reminders ahead of renewal season.
To renew your license, you will log into the same OPR portal as before. Fill out the form to renew, including any updates in contact information.
The requirements for renewal are simple. You can either send evidence that your CCC is in good standing, or evidence of adequate continuing education. According to ASHA, you’ll need 20 clock hours, which is the same as your CCC maintenance.
The fee is $200.
