California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License Renewal Procedure

Assistants must obtain 12 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) training during the two-year renewal period. You can take an unlimited number of self-study courses, making earning these hours extremely convenient. Other means of earning CPD include attending state or regional conferences, formal in-service presentations, workshops, and independent study programs. Any combination of these activities is approved by the Board, and here’s a list of approved providers.
Hold on to any certificates program presenters give you that prove you attended and completed the CPD hours offered. If you are ever audited by the board you will have to produce these documents, but you are not required to turn them in each renewal period.
After completing the application and paying the $100 renewal fee the board will process your information and send a notification regarding your status.
