Montana Board of Speech-Language Pathologists & AudiologistsA minimum of 10 continuing education (CE) credit hours are required to be completed by each licensee before the February 1st due date. You won’t be required to obtain CE hours until your first full year of licensure. It is your responsibility to search for and select an approved program that will deliver quality educational activities.
The activities you participate in should directly relate to the practice of speech-language pathology. The activities are expected to review current concepts, and techniques, update your knowledge of advances made in the field, and reinforce ethical obligations and professional conduct.
Be sure to keep your CE information documents as you may be among the 50% of licensees who are audited each year. During these audits, SLPs must produce documentation showing the course presenter or sponsor, the course title with a description of the content, the course dates, and the number of hours earned. If you aren’t compliant with the CE requirements your license may be suspended or other disciplinary action might be imposed.
Approved activities include ASHA and Montana Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA) endorsed workshops, seminars, training, courses, and more. Direct your renewal questions to UnitA@mt.gov or call (406) 444-6880.
